PM Modi Receives Mauritius’ Highest Award

Prime Minister Narendra Modi was honored with Mauritius’ highest civilian award, the Grand Commander of the Order of the Star and Key of the Indian Ocean, during his two-day state visit. President Dharam Gokhool presented the award at Mauritius’ 57th National Day celebrations. PM Modi is the first Indian leader and the fifth foreign national to receive this prestigious honor.

Expressing gratitude, Modi dedicated the award to 1.4 billion Indians and the deep historical and cultural ties between India and Mauritius. He emphasized the contributions of Indian-origin people in shaping Mauritius and reaffirmed India’s commitment to regional peace, progress, and development.

During the celebrations, an Indian Navy marching contingent participated in the parade, and an Indian Naval Ship made a port call. Modi also jointly inaugurated the Atal Bihari Vajpayee Institute of Public Service and Innovation with Mauritian PM Navinchandra Ramgoolam.
